FAQ - Boarding

What are the check-in times for boarding?

Boarding drop off occurs Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to 112 pm2pm. Please allow approximately 15 minutes for your boarding check-in process.

What are the pick-up times for boarding?

Boarding pick up occurs Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm, Saturday 8 am to 12 pm, and Sunday 2 pm to 4 pm.

How do I make reservations?

Please call our office at 704-892-0207 and one of our Patient Care Coordinators will work with you to schedule your reservation.

What vaccinations are required for my dog or cat to board?

Dog requirements: Rabies, Canine Distemper Combo, 6-month Bordatella, negative fecal test, negative Heartworm test. Dogs must also be on current Heartworm and flea prevention.

Cat requirements: Rabies, Feline Distemper Combo (FVRCP), Feline Leukemia, Bordatella. Cats must also be on current flea prevention.

We are a flea free practice. If your cat is not currently on a flea preventative, a dose of Revolution will be applied upon boarding and the cost added to the invoice. If a dog has fleas, flea dirt, or ticks upon check-in, the dog will be bathed and treated and the cost added to the invoice.

Our requirements are to keep your pet safe and healthy and do the same for all boarding pets.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our boarding facility is booked using a reservation system; therefore, in order to provide proper service to our clients, we require at least a 48 hour cancellation of a boarding reservation. If the cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to check in, a one night boarding fee will be assessed.

During the holidays, we require a 72 hour cancellation of a boarding reservation. If the cancellation is made less than 72 hours prior to check in, a one night boarding fee and holiday fee will be assessed.

My pet takes several medications. Will you give my pet these medicines?

We are happy to give administer medication to pets boarding with us. Medications are administered by our veterinary assistants. We ask that you bring any medications in their original containers so we understand exactly what we are giving and have the correction information regarding dosage. Medication administration incurs a small additional fee that will be added to your pet’s boarding charge. 

Can I come in for a tour?

We encourage you to visit our boarding facility. You are welcome to call ahead and set up a time to tour the facility, If you drop by, we will make every effort to accommodate a tour with one of our boarding specialists. We are best able to fulfill tour requests between the hours of 9am and 4pm. 

Does your Boarding facility fill up?

Yes, we do. We generally fill up during holidays, weekends, school vacations, and during the summer months. We recommend making reservations for your pet as early as possible. As a general rule, it is a good idea to make boarding arrangements at the same time you book a space for you to stay with your family. Once we are full, we begin a waiting list of clients to call in the event of any cancellations. We try our best to accommodate all the pets we can safely board.

Can you take care of my pet’s other needs during their boarding stay?

Yes, we would be happy to provide medical services to your pet while they are here boarding with us. Surgical procedures are best scheduled in advance, but we will do our best to accommodate your pets surgery needs while he or she is staying with us if not already scheduled.

Do you offer day boarding?

Yes, we do. Day boarding is available Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. It is important to note that day boarding is different than a doggie daycare facility. Just like the regular boarding, we do not have groups of dogs playing together. However, they are walked three times a day and given special attention by our warm and friendly Boarding staff.
