Digital Dental Radiography
Digital Dental Radiography is a form of X-ray imaging that is captured on a device that allows our doctors to immediately access the image and to use digital measurements, adjust contrast, brightness or color to assist them in reading the X-ray and deciding upon treatment.

At North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital, digital dental radiographs are available as a part of every procedure from dental cleaning to cases where the pet is being evaluated for a specific oral disease or injury. Just like humans, dental health care involves more than just the visible tooth above the gum line. There is a substantial amount of dental disease that occurs below the gum, making the use of digital dental radiography critical in the assessment of oral health.
All dental procedures including digital dental X-rays on pets are performed under general anesthesia to ensure the most complete diagnosis of care.
