Dr. Anna Shaffer grew up in Missouri with her five siblings but considers North Carolina home after being here for the last 15 years. She received her undergraduate degree from NC State University with a major in animal science and a minor in nutrition. She gained experience in the field as a veterinary assistant prior to returning to NCSU for vet school.

Dr. Shaffer’s professional interests include behavior, nutrition, surgery, and preventative medicine.

Dr. Shaffer lives with her husband Cameron and their pit mix Frankie (who is a total love bug) and cat Teegan. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new places to eat, traveling, and yoga.
