Dr. Dixon Holland is originally from just up the road in Greensboro and grew his initial love of animals on his grandparent’s farm.  He went to Virginia Tech for his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Leadership and Social Change, and continued his schooling in Blacksburg for an additional four years and received his DVM degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.  Focusing primarily on small animals with other smaller “pocket pets” mixed in, he spent the first four years of his veterinary career in the mountains of Colorado creating and developing his style of practice, mixed with a bit of hiking and skiing. He and his wife then decided after four years out west it was time to head back east to Charlotte to begin settling down, expand their family, and join the North Mecklenburg team this past fall, 2025.  His primary veterinary interests include dentistry and reproductive medicine, but he also prides himself on the relationships he builds with his clients (both human and pet alike).

In his free time, Dr. Holland likes re-exploring the rapidly growing Charlotte, playing golf, spending time with old friends, and enjoying life with his wife, Emily, and crazy Irish Doodle, Bruce. Sometimes he even gets to see the Hokies or Carolina Panthers play well (if he’s lucky!).
